After two and half years of growing his hair and protecting it from any damage, coping with all the nuisance it caused and also enjoying the beauty it added, Jishnu had his first haircut on 26th February at Coimbatore as we performed the ChudaKarma ceremony.
The day leading to Chudakarma, everyone wanted to dress him like a girl! From Bangalore they had brought the girl dress and all the dressing items. But when Jishnu noticed the unusual dress, he started screaming “no”. He never allowed anyone to dress him like a girl. Good boy! As part of series of ceremonies at Coimbatore, on 25th and 26th Feb, Rudra Homa was performed. On 25th morning, with help of thirteen priests, the homa was completed; Sukesha's temple was the venue for the homa.
Nearly three hour long, the Homa was the first time we did in our home. After taking the duties at nearby Shiva temple, Sukesha carried out some improvement works at temple. Appa and he wanted to perform Rudra Homa at the end of it. On 25th morning, everything happened as wished.

Two weeks ago I wrote about completing one year in this job, and the good, the bad and the others about it. Today at office there was a surprise for me. My manager told me earlier this week to be at office today and free my calendar after lunch time, at 1:30pm. I thought he is interviewing another project manager and may be want me to join him. But the surprise came when my manager and CIO said it is to give me an award!
The company has a policy of giving award – I don’t know the full rules but I believe some other staff need to recommend the person...

On first day of my trip to Coimbatore, it was ShivaRathri. At Sukesha’s temple there was special pooja all night; total four rounds of pooja starting at 6pm on 20th evening and concluding at 6am on 21st. First round of pooja was 108 Shankabhishekam at 6pm, second was 108 Elaneer (coconut water) from 9pm, third round was Panneer (scented water) at mid-night and final round of 108 Kalasha abhishekaham. Each round of abhishekam was followed by special pooja, prasadha distribution. Good number of devotees stayed all night to witness the pooja.
